Description

These albums were a real turning point in the history of salsa, the band brings together the biggest names of the Fania label with mythical figures like Ray Barretto, Celia Cruz, Willie Colon, etc. In 2004, it was the first record of Latin music to rank among the 50 most important albums of the 20th century (Source: The Library Of Congress). Fania Records was a New York-based record label founded by Dominican-born composer and bandleader Johnny Pacheco and Italian-American lawyer Jerry Masucci in 1964. The label took its name from an old Cuban song by the singer Reinaldo Bolaño. Fania is known for its promotion of what has become known as Salsa music. These albums are presented here together for the first time on red vinyl. Cut all analog from the original tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio.
