‘Very Emergency’ (1999) is the third album by The Promise Ring. This album sees the band continuing to explore the sounds they had started on their previous release ‘Nothing Feels Good,’ a more pop — rock leaning when compared to their debut. The Promise Ring’s hook-packed pop sensibility was unique for the genre at the time and helped them inject a shimmery energy into emo that still feels fresh today.
